Spell: Extend Reach

Whoa! Goose writing a spell for once? Indeed I am! Sometimes, you don't need extra damage, or a bonus to your attack rolls, you just need to be able to hit more stuff. And that's exactly what this spell lets you do!

Species: Wildhost

I love the concept of living, walking trees & plants, and just how much they can do to create a foreign, uneasy atmosphere- or a very warm, peaceful one- is utterly remarkable. You could have your party wander into a dense forest with gnarled, moss-overgrown trees, not knowing that half of those trees have eyes that watch the group’s every step, or you could have a scene where a treant seems to be talking to themselves, only for the party to find out there’s a family of songbirds living amidst their branches.

Class: The Falconer

At the time of posting this, it has been exactly 2 years since I posted my first homebrew on reddit. To celebrate, I figured: why not go back to the project that really kicked off this hobby for me, and give it a bit of love? So here you go, the Falconer class, updated to 5e 2024 mechanics & rules. I hope you enjoy!

Species: Variant Centaur

This is my take on a playable centaur. Centaurs are probably my favourite species to play as- they are fast, tall, and their unique anatomy introduces a lot of fun roleplay moments. They're also prominent in my own homebrew setting, hence the lore about them in this brew. I wanted to give centaurs a little bit more love than our friendly mages of the beach did by giving them lineages- after all, why stop at just horses for your lower half when there's a breadth of other hoofed animals that are at least equally as cool? I hope you enjoy my spin on the centaur!

Sorcerer Subclass: Blademarked

This is my gish sorcerer subclass. There are many like it, but this one’s mine. Last but definitely not least in this 3-part series of weapon-themed subclasses is my spin on a spellblade sorcerer! The introduction of Innate Sorcery in the 2024 sorcerer was too good not to make use of to introduce a bladesong-esque feature, so that’s exactly what I did. In terms of design, this subclass is a little less on the complicated side of things, but nevertheless I hope it sells the idea of a magic-martial-mix well!

Bard Subclass: Blade Conductor

Continuing the theme of “Floating swords are really cool”, here’s the Blade Conductor! I originally envisioned this to be a Sorcerer subclass but ended up being one of those rare cases where the design followed the title, rather than the other way around. I was inspired by Jhin and Xayah, characters from League of Legends, which I think shines through in the design. I was also happy to go a little overboard on the subclass’ complexity for once, so that you as the player can strategize with the tools the subclass gives you.
